Single vision lenses
Single vision lenses are designed for either near (reading) or far (distance), and have the same prescription over the entire lens. All our single vision lenses come with a hard coat as standard to prevent scratches and abrasions. Single vision lenses are the most common type of prescription lenses.

Bifocal lenses are made with two different strengths in each lens. The upper and middle parts of the lens are for distance vision, while a separate area around the bottom is glazed for near (reading). The most common types of bifocal are known as D-segment or R-segment. The D-segment has a visible line in the bottom part of the lens, while the R-segment is blended.

Progressive lenses (also known as varifocal lenses) are designed with three areas of vision. Far (distance) along the top of the lens with a gradual progression to intermediate in the middle portion of the lens, and a further progression to near (reading) in the bottom part of the lens. Unlike bifocal lenses, progressive have no visible lines between any of the three areas of vision. Our digital progressive lenses offer a very smooth transition between all areas.

Blue light blocking
Our blue blocking lenses filter out harmful UV and high-energy blue light from digital devices and artificial lighting. The lenses are virtually clear and may help against conditions like eye-strain, headaches and sleeplessness caused by excessive screen use.

In a nutshell, photochromic lenses change colour when exposed to light. They’re clear-lensed spectacles when indoors, and UV-protective sunglasses when you’re outdoors. Over the years, these lenses have mainly been seen as an older person’s choice. However thanks to Transitions (the biggest and best brand in the world for these lenses) these are now available with rapid-transitioning and a fantastic choice of colours. The deactivated lenses can also help protect against blue light from digital devices.

Our tinted prescription sun lenses offer full UV 400 protection, this means that our lenses protect your eyes from UVA and UVB radiation. Our sunglass tints are available in a number of colour options. There’s also the added option of polarization, explained below.

Polarized lenses offer the same protection as UV400 sunglass lenses, but with the added elimination of glare. Polarised lenses are the preference of outdoorsy-types and athletes because they offer far more clarity, especially on snow or in water. They’re also the preferred choice for driving. Our polarised lenses are available in a number of colour options, with or without a flash mirror coating.
